Established in 2003, the Canadian Queer Chamber of Commerce is a trusted partner linking 2SLGBTQI+ businesses in Canada to the wider business community. The CQCC fosters economic growth by supporting and nurturing 2SLGBTQI+ businesses, entrepreneurs, students and allies, and by helping Canada’s corporate bodies connect with the 2SLGBTQI+ business community. A leader in inclusive procurement, the CQCC is also the certifying body in Canada for 2SLGBTQI+ businesses.
Marketing & Campaign Specialist
The successful candidate will work closely with the marketing and communications team and collaborate across departments to drive programmatic marketing and performance optimization, Rainbow Registered program marketing, and impact and research communications. This candidate will also support events, member engagement, supplier diversity initiatives, and organizational storytelling.
This role helps ensure that CQCC’s programs, events, services, initiatives, and member-facing communications are clear, consistent, engaging, and aligned with the Chamber’s mission and strategic priorities. The role’s purpose is to:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of CQCC marketing and communications activities;
- Assist in developing content for digital platforms, newsletters, campaigns, events, and organizational updates;
- Maintain consistency in CQCC’s brand voice, visual identity, and public-facing communications;
- Support communications needs across CQCC’s program areas, including supplier diversity, engagement, events, partnerships, and advocacy initiatives; and
- Help strengthen CQCC’s visibility, storytelling, and connection with 2SLGBTQI+ businesses, members, partners, and broader interest holder audiences.
Core accountabilities
Digital campaign planning and delivery
- Develop campaign plans with clear objectives, target audiences, messages, channels, timelines and measures of success, in collaboration with the Manager, Marketing & Communications.
- Manage programmatic marketing, including planning, launching and optimizing automated paid advertising campaigns across social media and Google Ads.
- Execute coordinated campaigns across email, social media, websites and paid digital channels to promote Rainbow Registered and other CQCC programs and events.
- Create campaign concepts and audience-specific calls to action that encourage enquiries, applications, registrations and engagement.
- Coordinate campaign assets, approvals and launch schedules; monitor assigned advertising spend within approved budgets and flag issues promptly.
Email marketing and audience engagement
- Design, build and optimize automated customer journeys in Microsoft Dynamics CRM to nurture leads, strengthen engagement and encourage applications and registrations.
- Build, test and schedule email campaigns and newsletters, including copy, links, formatting and audience selection.
- Use CRM and email platform information to segment audiences and tailor messages to their interests and stage of engagement.
- Maintain accurate campaign lists and records, follow established consent and unsubscribe procedures, and monitor delivery and engagement.
- Test subject lines, calls to action and content to improve campaign results.
Campaign analytics and improvement
- Track campaign results using email, website, social media and advertising platform reports, with consistent campaign links and tracking conventions.
- Monitor relevant measures such as website visits, email clicks, enquiries, applications, registrations, conversion rates and cost per lead or registration where applicable.
- Prepare concise reports explaining what worked, what needs to change and recommended next steps; identify gaps or limitations in the available data.
- Use campaign comparisons and straightforward A/B tests to recommend improvements to messaging, audience targeting and channel use.
Copywriting and communications
- Write and edit clear, persuasive copy for emails, digital advertisements, landing pages, social media and promotional materials.
- Keep Rainbow Registered website content and social media calendars current and aligned with campaign priorities.
- Translate research, program outcomes and member experiences into accessible stories and content; contribute to impact reports and business sentiment reports with the relevant teams.
- Review materials for accuracy, grammar, accessibility, brand consistency and inclusive language; adapt messages for different audiences.
Collaboration and ownership
- Work with Programming, Engagement & Growth, and Grants & Research teams to gather information, agree on deliverables and coordinate deadlines.
- Coordinate assigned work with external designers, translators and other service providers, and gather member stories and testimonials respectfully.
- Manage assigned work from planning through completion, flag competing priorities and recommend practical solutions.
- Handle sensitive information with care, contribute to a collaborative workplace and stay current with relevant digital marketing practices.
Required experience and skills
- At least three years of relevant marketing experience, including hands-on delivery of digital campaigns and responsibility for reporting on results.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience translating marketing objectives into campaign plans, developing creative messaging and coordinating delivery across multiple channels.
- Practical experience with email marketing, paid digital campaigns and website or landing-page content, including audience targeting and campaign tracking.
- Ability to interpret campaign data, explain results clearly and recommend changes based on the findings.
- Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills, with examples of marketing content adapted for different audiences.
- Working proficiency with email marketing platforms, CRM systems, website content management tools and campaign analytics; ability to learn new platforms.
- Strong organization, attention to detail and judgment, with the ability to manage several deliverables and work effectively across teams.
Assets
- Experience with programmatic advertising or marketing automation.
- Familiarity with tools such as MS Dynamics, Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, digital advertising platforms, Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience in a not-for-profit, chamber of commerce, business association or membership organization, or marketing programs to small businesses.
- Experience communicating research or impact findings, supporting events, or working with 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
- Bilingualism in English and French.

Terms
This is a hybrid, full-time position based out of CQCC’s head office in Toronto, ON. Regular travel to events within the GTA and across Canada is required. Remote candidates based in Ottawa, Vancouver, Montréal, Quebec City, or other major Canadian centres may be considered, and attend in-person meetings, events, and organizational commitments as required.
Compensation
Salary will be based on skills and experience, within the annual earnings range of $60,000 – $65,000. Additional benefits round out the compensation package, including group benefit plan coverage, annual vacation, and a generous public holiday schedule including paid time off between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Compensation
